Apple iTunes is currently the king of portable downloads. With the momentum created from its Apple iPod, iTunes has become the premeire download resource to all that is portable media. Its iTunes 6 media player is currently the best. It offers outstanding playlist and sharing options, supreme editorials and content, and super ease of use. For those with iPods, its AAC ("Advanced Audio Coding") is better and of higher quality than WMA, but still allows options for MP3 format files to use on other MP3 compatible players. Further, iTunes offers the largest selection of other media such as movies, music videos, audio books and podcasts. So what's the catch? It's expensive! At $0.99/track, it tops the charts. There is also no sharing or "to-go" options that the other programs offer. Is the convenience, un-noticeable higher quality files and popularity of it worth its price? I really don't think so, but it you do want to spend a little more , you won't be disappointed.
